InternetService Providers (ISPs) may not be held liable for unlawfulmaterial that they unknowingly transmit, store or host on behalf oftheir customers. However, if you notify an ISP is warned of illegalmaterial on a website that they host they are obliged to take down,i.e., remove or disable access to the material in question, theywill be liable for prosecution.
Where Can I Report Illegal Content?
Go to the Internet Watch Foundation the UK hotline for reporting illegal content specifically: Child abuse images hosted worldwide and criminally obscene and incitement to racial hatred content hosted in the UK.
If the content is not hosted in the UK go to the International Network Against Cyberhate.
Visit the Internet ServicesProviders' Association (ISPA is the UK's Trade Association for providers of Internet services). A voluntary organisation that promotes self-regulation.
About the Internet Watch Foundation
The IWF work in partnership with UK Government Departments such asthe Home Office and the Department of Trade and Industry toinfluence initiatives and programmes developed to combat onlineabuse. This dialogue goes beyond the UK and Europe, to ensuregreater awareness of global issues and responsibilities. T hey are funded by the EU and the UKinternet industry including Internet Service Providers (ISPs),Mobile Operators and manufacturers, Content Service Providers(CSPs) and telecommunications & software companies. Through the hotline reporting system, the IWF help ISPs to combatabuse of their services through a 'notice and take down' service byalerting them to any potentially illegal content on their systemsand simultaneously inviting the police to investigate thepublisher.

INACH are a network looking at hate crimes and discriminationonline. They provide information on such issues and if you chooseto report an incident to them, will pass your complaint onto therelevant body in your country.
